Today it's official: Vereyo has been accepted into the Google for Startups Cloud Program. We're thrilled. Google looked at what we're building for contractors and decided to back it with Google Cloud credits, technical resources and support to build with Google's AI models.
The announcement went out on the wire this morning, and we're marking it the way a construction company should: with a party in a house. On October 16, during LA Tech Week, we're hosting a private celebration at a Beverly Hills home built with Vereyo technology. Matt and Nick will be demoing the platform live for the contractors, builders and investors in the room.

The Google for Startups Cloud Program helps early-stage companies build and scale on Google Cloud, with extra benefits for startups building with AI. For us, every bit of that support goes to the hardest part of the job: reading plans.
A single plan set can run to hundreds of sheets, and every one of them has to be measured trade by trade before a price goes on it. That's the work Vereyo does the moment a contractor uploads a PDF, and it's the work that gets heavier with every builder who joins. The Google program lets us scale that plan-reading pipeline, so we can process more plan sets at once and keep turnaround fast as more contractors come on board.
“Contractors spend nights and weekends estimating jobs. Vereyo automates the heavy lifting while letting them see every number as it's built. Onboarding 100 builders in 45 days tells us the demand is here. Joining the Google for Startups Cloud Program gives us the resources to build quickly and take Vereyo beyond Los Angeles.”
Made for general contractors, by a general contractor
We've said it since the day we launched, and the press release says it again: it isn't only the technology that sets Vereyo apart. Matt has spent more than 25 years as a working Los Angeles general contractor, and he built Vereyo to fix a problem he was living with on every bid.
“I was spending hours doing my own takeoffs and estimates and that was keeping me from being on site working on my builds. When I tried to use the generic AI tools all they could do was guess, and in construction a guess costs you the job or your margin. We built Vereyo on real subcontractor pricing from the jobs we actually bid. At LA Tech Week we want to show other builders what that looks like on their own plans.”
Nothing on Vereyo happens in a black box. You see every measurement, line item and price as the estimate is built, and you can adjust any of it before it goes to a client. Pricing comes from our own database of real Southern California subcontractor bids, not national cost averages. And the platform keeps going after the first number: Bid Center sends trade packages to your subs straight from the estimate, and Bid Check compares every bid that comes back against the takeoff, flagging missing scope and outlier prices so you can award with confidence.
- Upload a PDF plan set. Vereyo reads every sheet and separates each floor and structure on its own.
- More than 20 trades are measured at the same time, and every quantity is drawn on the plan so you can check it.
- Prices come from real Southern California subcontractor bids, and every rate and line item is yours to edit.
- Bid Center sends packages to subs. Bid Check verifies what comes back.
Come see it at LA Tech Week
If you're a contractor in town for LA Tech Week, or just in town generally, we'd love to show you Vereyo on your own plans. Email oona@vereyo.com to book a demo. Bring a plan set. We'll have an estimate back before the tour of the house is over.
To the builders who signed up in those first 45 days: this one's yours. You uploaded the plans, told us what was off, and watched us fix it. Google noticed. Now we get to build faster, and we're taking Vereyo beyond Los Angeles with you.
Vereyo is currently onboarding Southern California general contractors and remodelers. Learn more about the Google for Startups Cloud Program at cloud.google.com/startup.
